Who am I:
I’m Michael Morahan, the chief writer, thinker, and curator here at Exponet.Ventures. I have been interested in the crypto industry for nearly a decade and first invested in Ethereum and Bitcoin back in 2016. I have a financial, technical, and philosophical background.
I majored in Philosophy in college, exploring the multiverse of ideas and hardened my analytical and logical chops to cut through the noise.
I invested in the stock market as a teenager, day-traded financial derivatives for years, and even entered the wild world futures and forex markets. I have devoured every trading and investing book I could get my hands on to learn from the most prolific and successful investors. With my experience in the markets came many lessons. I have learned the hard way so you don’t have to.
My technical background as a web developer and graduating from the intensive program at Hack Reactor has peeled back the veil of technology. My technical lense has helped me discover how things truly work, under the hood in the realm of bits and bytes.
Then crypto took my mind by storm. I have been fascinated, shocked, and surprised by the technology, the investment opportunities, and even the philosophies that are the undercurrent of the inventions. I have a unique perspective on the markets, tech, and ideas that are beginning to enter mainstream consciousness. I firmly believe we are only now seeing the tip of the iceberg.
Why I created this newsletter:
I have scoured the web for a single source of reliable, non-fearmongering, up-to-date, and forward-looking newsletter that covered the industry as a whole, not just Bitcoin. Spoiler I never found it. That is why I have created this newsletter, to stay on top of the industry pulling from many sources and filtering out the FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt). This newsletter is designed for crypto veterans and those considering dipping their toes in the water. Each newsletter will have concise summaries of the articles, which you are welcome to explore in-depth if you are inspired to do so.
In addition to curating cutting-edge developments, I will provide original writings directly from this blog exploring in-depth some of the foundational and most exciting topics to help you gain a better understanding of the basics and avoid the many mistakes first-timers make.
When I first started learning about crypto, it was in meetups with a bunch of nerds discussing the technology and the potential. Now it seems every major sport has arenas being branded by crypto companies and nearly every celebrity has created their own NFTs. Many of these overly-hyped projects do not have any real value or unique technology behind the projects.
My job here is to provide you will quality sources of information and thought pieces that will help you better understand this fast-changing industry. Crypto is here to stay.
